After reading William Shakespeare’s classic play,A Midsummer Night’s Dream, students were challenged to memorize a sonnetand perform it in front of the class. Learning and reciting the words of Shakespeare by memory proved to be very challenging, and many students struggled to remember the difficult prose. Chelsea Schwenk, senior, commented on this, stating, “It was hard trying to decipher what each word meant”. Although daunting, this assignment allowed students to better their public speaking skills, and understand how valuable adequate preparation is.
