Shriek Show - Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast Kate Shields & Abby Gehlhausen

This week we are heading to the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast in Fall River, Massachusetts. This is the location of one of the most infamous unsolved murder cases in America. On August 4, 1892, Andrew Borden and Abby Gray were murdered. They were both victims of brutal hatchet attacks.
Three years before the murders, Sarah Borden, Andrews’s first wife, passed away. He then married Abby and her and Lizzie tried to have a cordial relationship, but she believed that Abby only married for her father’s money. Months leading up to the murder, Andrew had been giving gifts of real estate to Abby’s family while leaving Emma and Lizzie with nothing. People think that Lizzie committed the murders to get the family wealth. Lizzie was the main suspect of the crime and was said to burn a dress covered in blood to cover it up. There was never enough evidence to convict her for the murders, so the case remains unsolved. The house today has the original furniture and the decor has been duplicated to look like the originals. The original artifacts from the case are even still displayed in the house.
The house has since been turned into a bed and breakfast where people can rent out rooms and stay the night. Guests claim to see spectral cats, apparitions, self-rocking rocking chairs, and even say that Lizzie herself still haunts the home and chokes guests that lay in her bed. They have also said to capture photos of strange anomalies floating by their beds, hear noises coming from inside wardrobes, hear footsteps and laughter (like that of Lizzie’s, the morning of the murders) and some have even reported being touched by an unseen hand while they slept.
